The problem

The gap between HR advice and day-to-day action

Ontario's Employment Standards Act and seven Working for Workers Acts bring a steady flow of new obligations. Your HR adviser flags what needs doing. Weeks later, nobody is sure which records are current or where they live.

Today

  • Job posting records sitting in a shared drive somewhere
  • No record of whether AI screening disclosure was included in postings
  • Candidates interviewed weeks ago with no 45-day notification logged
  • Electronic monitoring policy from last year still the one on file
  • Washroom cleaning records on paper behind the bar
  • New-hire written information not captured before the first shift

With Duty Room

  • Live employment records per site
  • Job posting checklist for compensation range and AI disclosure
  • 45-day candidate notification tracker
  • Annual electronic monitoring policy renewal reminder
  • Washroom cleaning record template, ready to post
  • Export or share in one click

Questions & Answers

Does Duty Room replace our HR adviser or employment lawyer?

No. Your HR adviser or employment lawyer decides what applies to your business. Duty Room helps you and your adviser stay aligned on the records, deadlines, and follow-through.

How long does setup take?

Under 10 minutes to activate and invite your team. Loading the records your adviser has flagged takes as long as you have time for. Start with the most important ones and add as you go.

Do I need to be technical?

No. If your team can use a phone, they can use Duty Room.

What is the 45-day candidate notification?

Under the Working for Workers Act, some employers must notify interviewed candidates of the hiring decision within 45 days. Your HR adviser can tell you if it applies to you. Duty Room tracks the deadline for each candidate so nobody is missed.

What counts as AI screening disclosure?

If you use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants, the posting may need to say so. This can include resume-scanning tools, chatbot pre-screens, and automated scoring. Your HR adviser can confirm what applies to your postings.

Can my HR adviser access the account?

Yes. Invite them in and they see the same live view of records, deadlines, and follow-through. No extra cost.

Where is my data stored?

Canadian-hosted infrastructure. Your data stays in Canada.

Is this proof of legal compliance?

No. Duty Room gives you organised records of the work you have done. Your HR adviser or employment lawyer is the one who judges whether those records meet your obligations.

What can I export if I leave?

Everything. Your data is yours.
